The study reviews 207 manuscripts to identify the positive and negative impacts of Industry 4.0 on sustainability. It highlights the need for a sustainable paradigm in Industry 4.0, emphasizing the importance of integrating sustainable development goals. The research identifies 18 significant uses of Industry 4.0 that contribute to environmental sustainability, including the use of IoT, cloud computing, and advanced analytics. The study also discusses the challenges and opportunities presented by Industry 4.0, such as the need for retraining and the integration of new technologies. The findings suggest that Industry 4.0 can significantly improve environmental sustainability by establishing ecological support and promoting sustainable practices.
