This study explores the perspectives of nursing professionals on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in future nursing care. Conducted through a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved 23 nursing professionals who were interviewed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed ten key themes: 1. **Perceptions of AI Readiness**: Nursing professionals expressed both optimism and caution about AI integration, recognizing its potential to enhance patient care and streamline processes while also emphasizing the importance of comprehensive training. 2. **Benefits and Concerns**: Participants highlighted the potential of AI to improve early detection of critical medical indicators, enhance patient outcomes, and relieve nurses from routine tasks. However, they also expressed concerns about data privacy, the preservation of human connections, and the need for ethical considerations. 3. **Enhanced Patient Outcomes**: AI's ability to predict patient deterioration and provide personalized treatment plans was seen as a significant benefit, potentially leading to improved clinical results. 4. **Collaboration and Workflow**: Nursing professionals emphasized the importance of collaboration and workflow enhancement through AI, viewing it as a valuable partner in healthcare teams. 5. **Human-Tech Balance**: They stressed the need for a symbiotic relationship between AI and human expertise, with AI handling analytical tasks while nurses focus on the human aspects of patient care. 6. **Training and Skill Development**: Participants emphasized the importance of continuous learning and skill development to effectively utilize AI in nursing practice. 7. **Ethical and Legal Considerations**: They discussed the ethical and legal dimensions of AI integration, advocating for responsible and ethical use of AI in healthcare. 8. **AI Implementation Barriers**: Participants identified challenges such as limited resources and resistance to change, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to overcome these barriers. 9. **Patient-Nurse Relationships**: They advocated for maintaining and enhancing patient-nurse relationships, ensuring that AI complements rather than replaces human connections. 10. **Future Vision and Adaptation**: Participants envisioned a future where AI synergizes with their capabilities, emphasizing the need for proactive adaptation and innovation. The study underscores the nurses' enthusiasm for AI's potential benefits while highlighting the importance of ethical and compassionate nursing practice. It also highlights the need for comprehensive training programs to equip nursing professionals with the skills necessary for successful AI integration, contributing to a future where innovative technologies complement and enhance patient-centered care. This study explores the perspectives of nursing professionals on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in future nursing care.
