The article explores the role of high heels in constructing feminine identity, analyzing three main contexts: their use as a symbol of male dominance over the feminine body and identity, their sexual connotations, and their paradoxical use as a source of women's emancipation. The author argues that every aspect of femininity, even the smallest, is involved in contradictory values and practical consequences. High heels are examined through the lens of sociology, anthropology, history, and medicine, highlighting their rich symbolism and historical significance. The article discusses how high heels have been used to enforce social control over women, their association with power and class, and their impact on women's physical comfort and health. It also explores the ambivalent nature of high heels, which can be both a tool of oppression and a means of empowerment, depending on the context and the wearer's perspective. The article concludes by reflecting on the complex dynamics of gender, sexuality, and emancipation in relation to high heels. The article explores the role of high heels in constructing feminine identity, analyzing three main contexts: their use as a symbol of male dominance over the feminine body and identity, their sexual connotations, and their paradoxical use as a source of women's emancipation.
