The use of technology in education has enabled students to use their mobile devices, especially smartphones, in the classroom. Students spend over four hours in front of their cell phone screens, either on social networks or playing games. Therefore, these mobile devices can be used as tools with technological applications to help students perform their academic activities. Furthermore, the use of these devices helps develop students' cognitive skills, improving collaboration and communication between students and teachers, thus strengthening the teaching and learning process.
App Inventor is an application that allows students to easily start programming to create their own applications for smartphones. According to Brown (2005), the learning process when using portable devices should be understood as an activity directly related to managing information and available knowledge. Learning to use App Inventor will allow students to learn how to solve problems and make appropriate decisions, thereby strengthening the learning process.
