This study explores the negative impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) in Islamic education, focusing on distortions in religious understanding, curricula, and student-teacher interactions. Using a qualitative research method and analyzing works by Islamic education experts, the study finds that AI in Islamic education can distort religious values, reduce student creativity, and change the roles of teachers and the learning environment. AI in Islamic education presents ethical challenges and risks of distorting religious text interpretations. The study recommends strict supervision and ethical guidelines for AI implementation to preserve religious values while leveraging AI's potential for religious understanding. The findings emphasize the importance of maintaining religious values in the modern technological era.
