This study assesses the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education. Based on a narrative and framework for assessing AI, the study focuses on AI's application and effects in administration, instruction, and learning. A qualitative research approach, using literature review, was employed to effectively achieve the study's purpose. AI is a field of study that has led to innovations and developments in computers, machines, and other artifacts with human-like intelligence, characterized by cognitive abilities, learning, adaptability, and decision-making. The study found that AI has been extensively adopted in education, particularly by educational institutions, in various forms. AI initially took the form of computer and computer-related technologies, transitioning to web-based and online intelligent education systems, and ultimately using embedded computer systems and other technologies to perform instructor duties independently or with instructors. Using these platforms, instructors can perform administrative functions more effectively and efficiently, such as reviewing and grading students' assignments. Additionally, AI systems leverage machine learning and adaptability to customize and personalize curriculum and content according to students' needs, fostering uptake and retention and improving learners' experiences and overall learning quality.
AI has been applied in various areas of education, including administration, instruction, and learning. AI has improved efficiency in administrative tasks, such as grading and providing feedback, and has enhanced instructional quality through the development of powerful pedagogical tools. AI has also facilitated personalized learning by customizing curriculum and content according to students' needs, abilities, and capabilities. Furthermore, AI has enabled global access to learning through online and web-based platforms, eliminating barriers posed by national and international borders. AI has also been used in virtual reality and simulation-based instruction, providing students with experiential learning opportunities. AI has been integrated into various technologies and approaches, used as a standalone instructional tool or to support instructors in the discharge of their teaching mandate. The study concludes that AI has significantly impacted education, improving efficiency, effectiveness, and learning experiences. This study assesses the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education.
