This study presents a systematic and bibliometric review of the circular economy (CE), analyzing scientific production from 2015 to 2023 using data from the Scopus database. The results show a moderate positive increase in scientific output, with a peak in 2022. The UK leads in publications, with the most cited article being "The Circular Economy: An Interdisciplinary Exploration of the Concept and Application in a Global Context" by Murray A., Skene K., and Haynes K., cited 1248 times. The most relevant journal is the Journal of Cleaner Production, and the authors Jaca C., Prieto V., Ormazabal M., Baumgartner R., and Vermeulen W. collaborated on four studies. Key terms include circular economy, environmental economics, economic sciences, and eco-design. The CE is presented as an innovative alternative that contributes to sustainable production processes and environmentally friendly product redesign. The study highlights the growing interest in CE, its role in reducing environmental impact, and the need for greater government and organizational commitment to promote its implementation. The research also identifies key authors, journals, and trends in CE research, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and the need for further studies to explore CE's potential in various sectors. The study concludes that CE is a critical strategy for achieving sustainability and environmental responsibility in business and industry. This study presents a systematic and bibliometric review of the circular economy (CE), analyzing scientific production from 2015 to 2023 using data from the Scopus database.
