Compilation of tRNA sequences and sequences of tRNA genes

Compilation of tRNA sequences and sequences of tRNA genes

2005, Vol. 33, Database issue | Mathias Sprinzl* and Konstantin S. Vassilenko
The Compilation of tRNA Sequences and Sequences of tRNA Genes, maintained at the Universität Bayreuth in Germany and the Institute of Protein Research in Pushchino, Russia, is a searchable and periodically updated database of tRNA sequences. The current version includes a new Genomic tRNA Compilation with sequences from 111 organisms, covering archaea, bacteria, and eukarya, up to July 2003. The database also supports the former Compilation of tRNA Genes (up to 1998) and the updated Compilation of tRNA Sequences (561 entries). It allows users to explore multiple search criteria and sequence templates, providing statistical information on base occurrences and facilitating phylogenetic studies and interactions with enzymes. The database is organized as MS Excel® workbooks, with detailed descriptions and alignment of sequences, and is freely accessible for research purposes. The Compilation of tRNA Sequences and Sequences of tRNA Genes, maintained at the Universität Bayreuth in Germany and the Institute of Protein Research in Pushchino, Russia, is a searchable and periodically updated database of tRNA sequences.
