The Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards (CHEERS) statement aims to provide a comprehensive and updated set of guidelines for reporting health economic evaluations. The primary audiences for this statement are researchers conducting economic evaluations and editors and peer reviewers assessing their publications. The need for new reporting guidance was identified through a survey of medical editors, and a modified Delphi panel was conducted to develop 24 items and accompanying recommendations. These recommendations are presented in a user-friendly 24-item checklist, which can be found on the ISPOR website. The CHEERS statement is being co-published in 10 health economics and medical journals to facilitate its dissemination and uptake. The authors hope that CHEERS will lead to better reporting and ultimately, better health decisions. The statement is expected to be reviewed and updated every five years to reflect evolving methods and practices in health economic evaluations. The Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards (CHEERS) statement aims to provide a comprehensive and updated set of guidelines for reporting health economic evaluations.
