The Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards (CHEERS) statement aims to improve the reporting of health economic evaluations. It consolidates and updates existing guidelines into a user-friendly checklist for researchers and editors. The statement was developed through a modified Delphi process involving experts from various fields. It includes 24 items to guide reporting, covering title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and other aspects. The CHEERS statement is co-published in 10 journals and encourages other journals to endorse it. The checklist is available on the CHEERS Task Force website. The statement emphasizes the importance of transparency and clarity in reporting to improve health decisions. It is intended to serve as a standard for future economic evaluations and will be reviewed in five years. The CHEERS statement is based on current recommendations for reporting guidelines and involves an international team of experts. It provides a minimum set of criteria, an explanatory document, and a checklist to aid in reporting. The statement is neutral regarding the conduct of economic evaluations, allowing analysts to choose different methods. The authors declare no conflicts of interest. The CHEERS Task Force acknowledges the support of various individuals and organizations. The article is published in multiple journals, each holding its own copyright. The Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards (CHEERS) statement aims to improve the reporting of health economic evaluations.
