A community-based health initiative aimed at promoting healthy living without smoking in SDN Bedagung 02, Bedagung Village, Panekan District, Magetan Regency, Indonesia. The initiative, part of the Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat (GERMAS), focuses on seven indicators, including no family members smoking. The study involved 39 respondents, with 33 as samples. Univariate analysis showed a 40% pretest and 90% posttest knowledge level on healthy living without smoking, categorized as high. Smoking has adverse health effects, and creating smoke-free areas is recommended to quit the habit. The study found that 64.9% of the population in Bedagung smoked, with factors including lack of health knowledge, low education levels, and surrounding smoking environments. The initiative used surveys, lectures, and Q&A sessions, along with LCDs and posters, to educate the community. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge after the intervention. The study highlights the importance of community involvement in promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing smoking, especially among children. The initiative also emphasizes the need for smoke-free zones, especially in schools, and the role of role models in discouraging smoking.
