This study presents a bibliometric analysis of key trends, authors, and themes in the literature on human rights and social justice in Quranic contexts from 2019 to 2024. Using R/R-Studio, Vosviewer, Microsoft Excel, and a Boolean search on Scopus, the research analyzed data to identify important trends, authors, affiliations, and thematic developments. The results show a wide range of research interests and substantial publication activity with noteworthy contributions from different nations and institutions. Network visualisations highlight the transdisciplinary nature of the discourse by illuminating the relationships and co-occurrences of important terms. The study offers important insights into the development of scholarly research on these important subjects, laying the groundwork for further research and educating practitioners and politicians on the relationship between social justice, legal doctrine, and religious texts.
The study's findings reveal that the United States and the United Kingdom are the leading contributors to the field, with the United States having the highest number of documents and the United Kingdom the second highest. The University of Oxford is the most prolific contributor among institutions. The analysis also highlights the importance of human rights, democracy, religion, equality, freedom, and justice as key themes. The study identifies the most cited papers, including "The New Cold War: Religious Nationalism Confronts the Secular State" and "Tortured Confessions: Prisons and Public Recantations in Modern Iran." The study also shows that the field is multidimensional, with aspects that include social, political, ethical, and legal dimensions. The study concludes that the field is dynamic and evolving, with significant implications for policy-making and academic research.
