This research aims to assess the effectiveness of the "Pemajuan Kebudayaan Desa (PKD)" program in protecting traditional culture and providing space for communities to develop and express their culture. The study used a qualitative approach supported by quantitative data. Data were collected through an online questionnaire targeting local village individuals selected as PKD facilitators. Data were analyzed descriptively to identify themes emerging from questionnaire responses. The results show that the PKD program encourages village governments and communities to understand their cultural potential, increasing cultural preservation awareness. The program also contributes to the emergence of cultural expression spaces and collaboration between villages in the cultural sector, promoting community welfare. The PKD program is an effective cultural-based community empowerment initiative that enhances government and local community awareness of the importance of cultural protection and preservation, contributing to national development. Keywords: Pemajuan Kebudayaan Desa, village cultural potential, community empowerment, cultural preservation, tradition regeneration. The research highlights the importance of cultural heritage in rural development, emphasizing the need for community-based approaches to cultural preservation. The PKD program has been implemented in 147 villages, with three stages: identification of cultural potential, development and utilization of cultural resources, and implementation of cultural activities. The program has improved cultural awareness, increased community participation, and fostered inter-village collaboration. Despite challenges such as limited government support and the need for better community engagement, the PKD program has made significant contributions to cultural preservation and development. The study recommends continued collaboration between government, communities, and other stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the program. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of the "Pemajuan Kebudayaan Desa (PKD)" program in protecting traditional culture and providing space for communities to develop and express their culture.
