Industry 5.0 is the next industrial evolution, aiming to leverage human creativity in collaboration with efficient, intelligent, and accurate machines to achieve resource-efficient and user-preferred manufacturing solutions. This paper provides a survey-based tutorial on the potential applications and supporting technologies of Industry 5.0. It introduces new concepts and definitions from different industry practitioners and researchers, discusses potential applications such as intelligent healthcare, cloud manufacturing, supply chain management, and manufacturing production, and reviews supporting technologies like edge computing, digital twins, collaborative robots, Internet of Everything, blockchain, and 6G networks. The paper also highlights research challenges and open issues, including security, privacy, human-robot co-working, scalability, and skilled workforce.
