The study examines the influence of information technology (IT) skills on the performance of tea producers in Kenya. Using a cross-sectional survey design, the research focuses on tea producer companies that are members of the East Africa Tea Trade Association (EATTA). The study employs a questionnaire to gather data from 121 top managers of these companies. The findings indicate that IT skills have a positive and statistically significant impact on the performance of tea producer companies in Kenya. Specifically, cross-training, encouraging innovation, and providing employment opportunities are identified as key factors influencing performance. The study recommends that tea producer companies should implement effective employee training programs to enhance their IT skills, thereby improving overall performance. The research is guided by the positivist philosophy, emphasizing empirical evidence and scientific methods. The Strategic Alignment Model (SAM) is used to understand the relationship between IT strategy and business strategy, highlighting the importance of aligning IT with business objectives to enhance organizational performance. The study concludes that IT skills play a crucial role in shaping the performance of tea producers in Kenya, and suggests practical recommendations for improving IT skills and performance in the industry. The study examines the influence of information technology (IT) skills on the performance of tea producers in Kenya.
