The study examines the impact of information technology (IT) skills on the performance of tea producer companies in Kenya. It uses a cross-sectional survey design, targeting 121 top managers from 29 tea producer companies in the East Africa Tea Trade Association (EATTA). The research employed purposive sampling and a questionnaire to collect data, with a pilot study to ensure validity and reliability. The findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between IT skills and firm performance. Key factors influencing performance include cross-training, innovation, and employment opportunities. The study recommends that tea producer companies implement effective employee training programs to enhance IT skills. Theoretical framework includes the Strategic Alignment Model (SAM), emphasizing the alignment between IT and business strategies. Empirical results show strong correlations between IT skills and performance, with IT strategic alignment improving service quality, production efficiency, and product development. The study concludes that IT skills significantly contribute to the performance of tea producers in Kenya, highlighting the need for strategic IT investment and training to enhance competitiveness. The study examines the impact of information technology (IT) skills on the performance of tea producer companies in Kenya.
