This review of reviews aims to identify the reasons for missed nursing care and understand how nurses prioritize what care they miss. Missed nursing care refers to essential nursing activities that are omitted or not completed as planned, often due to staffing shortages, time constraints, or communication issues. The review, guided by the JBI methodology and using PRISMA-ScR, included nine systematic reviews that met the criteria. The findings indicate that missed care is primarily due to staffing levels, organizational problems, and the working climate. Prioritization of care depends on acute care needs, educational background, and experiential factors. Missed nursing care has negative impacts on patient safety, quality of care, and healthcare professional satisfaction. Organizational characteristics, nursing unit features, and teamwork among staff influence missed care. Individual demographic characteristics, professional roles, work schedules, and adequate staffing are also contributing factors. The review highlights the need for effective staffing strategies, continuous training, and a collaborative team culture to address missed nursing care and improve patient outcomes. This review of reviews aims to identify the reasons for missed nursing care and understand how nurses prioritize what care they miss.
