Offshore wind energy is a key component of Poland's energy strategy, with significant potential for contributing to the country's energy mix. The article analyzes the importance of offshore wind farms in Poland's energy system and assesses public perception of their development. It highlights the economic benefits of offshore wind energy, such as reduced energy costs and increased regional attractiveness, while also addressing environmental concerns, including potential impacts on ecosystems and landscapes. The study uses a combination of literature review, legal analysis, and survey data to evaluate public attitudes. The survey, conducted in a coastal area in northern Poland, found that 63% of respondents support ongoing offshore wind energy investments, with 61% supporting further development. However, 23% of respondents believed offshore wind energy would negatively affect the energy system. The study also identified key factors influencing public opinion, including economic benefits and environmental concerns. The results indicate that offshore wind energy has the potential to significantly strengthen Poland's energy system, but public acceptance is influenced by a range of factors, including environmental and social considerations. The study concludes that offshore wind energy is an important part of Poland's energy transition, but further research and public engagement are needed to address concerns and ensure successful implementation.Offshore wind energy is a key component of Poland's energy strategy, with significant potential for contributing to the country's energy mix.
