This study examines the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on Phubbing behavior among adolescent social media users in Indonesia. The research aimed to determine the impact of FoMO on Phubbing behavior, using a sample of 158 adolescents who use social media. The study employed a purposive sampling method and used regression analysis with SPSS version 25 for MacOS. The results showed that FoMO has a significant effect on Phubbing behavior (p < 0.05), indicating that adolescents with higher levels of FoMO are more likely to engage in Phubbing behavior. The study also identified two key aspects of Phubbing: communication disturbance and phone obsession. Additionally, FoMO was measured based on two aspects: self and relatedness. The findings suggest that adolescents who experience higher levels of FoMO are more prone to Phubbing behavior, which can negatively affect their social interactions and overall well-being. The study highlights the importance of addressing FoMO and Phubbing behavior in adolescents to promote healthier social media use and improve social interactions. This study examines the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on Phubbing behavior among adolescent social media users in Indonesia.
