This study explores nurse practitioners' perceptions and attitudes toward the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. The research employed a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with 37 nurse practitioners selected through purposive sampling. Thematic analysis revealed nine main themes, including perceptions of AI implementation, attitudes toward AI adoption, patient-centered care and AI, quality of healthcare delivery and AI, ethical and regulatory aspects of AI, education and training needs, collaboration and interdisciplinary relationships, obstacles in integrating AI, and AI and healthcare policy. While many nurse practitioners viewed AI as a tool to enhance patient care, there were also concerns about dehumanization, data security, and job displacement. The study emphasizes the need for comprehensive education and training in AI, along with clear ethical and regulatory guidelines to ensure responsible integration. Collaboration and interdisciplinary relationships are crucial for successful AI integration in healthcare. Policymakers should address the challenges and opportunities AI presents in the healthcare sector. The findings highlight the importance of balancing technology with human interaction, ensuring patient-centered care, and addressing ethical considerations. The study also underscores the need for flexible government regulations and ethical guidelines to support responsible AI adoption in healthcare. Overall, the research contributes to the ongoing discourse on AI adoption in healthcare by providing insights into the perspectives of nurses, shaping future strategies for AI integration. This study explores nurse practitioners' perceptions and attitudes toward the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare.
