Physical activity is crucial for successful aging, particularly for older adults. This review highlights the importance of light-intensity physical activity (LTPA) in improving functional ability, preventing chronic diseases, and enhancing quality of life. LTPA helps maintain mental well-being, reduces the risk of obesity, and improves sleep, which is vital for older people. It also aids in muscle building, preventing sarcopenia, and increasing bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Additionally, physical activity supports cognitive functions and slows cognitive decline, contributing to successful aging. Studies show that regular physical activity reduces the risk of cognitive decline and may slow the development of Alzheimer's disease. Aerobic exercises like walking, jogging, and swimming are particularly effective in preserving cognitive function. LTPA, such as walking, gardening, or light stretching, has a positive impact on health and should be incorporated into daily routines. These activities improve balance, flexibility, coordination, endurance, mental health, and muscle strength, reducing the risk of falls and injuries. Community-based interventions, including education and e-health programs, are effective in promoting physical activity among older adults. These interventions improve physical function, social engagement, and overall health. Resistance training, meditative movement, and active video games also contribute to successful aging. The review emphasizes the need for community-based programs that encourage regular physical activity to enhance health, reduce early mortality, and lower health costs. Physical activity is recommended for older adults due to its positive effects on physical, mental, and social well-being.Physical activity is crucial for successful aging, particularly for older adults.
