This study explores the preservation of Shipping Folk Songs in Weiyuan County, China, emphasizing education, literacy, and the roles of various stakeholders. The songs, rooted in the Shipping Mountain region, are part of the Han folk song tradition and reflect the Hakka community's cultural heritage. The research highlights the importance of schools, Hakka musicians, and government policies in preserving this cultural asset. Local higher education institutions and cultural research units also play a critical role in promoting cultural heritage. The study underscores the need for education and literacy to ensure the long-term preservation of Shipping Folk Songs. It examines the historical and cultural significance of these songs, their transmission within the Hakka community, and the challenges in their preservation. The study also discusses the role of government support, the use of modern media technologies, and the integration of Shipping Folk Songs into educational curricula.
