This study employs bibliometric analysis to examine the historical and current research patterns in the areas of energy transition and green finance, and to forecast potential future domains. Using the Web of Science database, 328 scholarly articles were evaluated to identify influential publications, map the research landscape, and predict emerging trends through co-citation and co-word analyses. Co-citation analysis revealed three main clusters, while co-word analysis identified four main clusters. The study highlights the growing significance of research on energy transition and green finance, emphasizing the need for further in-depth investigation to provide a comprehensive depiction of the research domain. This research is a pioneering effort in using bibliometric analysis to investigate the interrelationship between energy transition and green finance, offering valuable insights into the rapidly expanding field and indicating potential future developments. The findings provide a roadmap for researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals, guiding them in understanding the current state and future direction of the interaction between energy transition and green finance. This study employs bibliometric analysis to examine the historical and current research patterns in the areas of energy transition and green finance, and to forecast potential future domains.
