S3-Leitlinie „Behandlung akuter perioperativer und posttraumatischer Schmerzen“

S3-Leitlinie „Behandlung akuter perioperativer und posttraumatischer Schmerzen“

01.09.2021 | Esther Pogatzi-Zahn
The S3 guideline "Treatment of Acute Perioperative and Posttraumatic Pain" is a collaborative project between the German Society of Surgery (DGCH), the German Society of Surgeons (BDC), and Springer Medicine. It aims to provide evidence-based recommendations for the treatment of acute perioperative and posttraumatic pain. The guideline addresses key questions such as which medications and combinations are appropriate for perioperative pain management, which regional analgesia techniques should be used based on evidence, and how to develop procedure-specific pain concepts for different surgeries. It also discusses how to optimize perioperative pain therapy regardless of pharmacological or regional analgesic approaches. The guideline is organized by the AWMF (German Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare), led by the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI). It was published on September 1, 2021, and is valid until August 31, 2026. The guideline is available for download at the AWMF register. The guideline was prepared by experts, but many recommendations are based on expert consensus rather than scientific evidence. Therefore, the guideline does not provide legally binding instructions but offers guidance for clinical practice. The guideline includes an infobox with information about a live webinar on May 16, 2024, featuring Esther Pogatzki-Zahn. The webinar is open to BDC members and non-members can register for their own account. The webinar will be archived on the BDC Academy and SpringerMedizin websites. The author, Esther Pogatzki-Zahn, has declared financial interests, including funding from Grünenthal, Novartis, and Medtronic for research and advisory board activities, as well as non-financial interests such as her roles in various professional organizations. The S3 guideline "Treatment of Acute Perioperative and Posttraumatic Pain" is a collaborative project between the German Society of Surgery (DGCH), the German Society of Surgeons (BDC), and Springer Medicine.
