This study investigates the artificial intelligence (AI) literacy levels of prospective Turkish language teachers. The research aimed to determine the AI literacy levels of these teachers, considering their literacy levels, gender, daily internet usage, and following news about AI. The sample consisted of 215 Turkish language teacher candidates from Bayburt University. The survey model, a quantitative research method, was used, and data were collected using the Artificial Intelligence Literacy Scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS, and the results showed that the AI literacy of the prospective teachers was close to a high level. The gender of the prospective teachers was found to be a significant variable affecting their AI literacy levels, with female teachers showing higher literacy levels. Additionally, the grade level of the teachers had a significant impact on their AI literacy, with higher grades showing better literacy. There was no significant difference between the AI literacy of teachers based on their daily internet usage time, but following news about AI was found to be a significant variable affecting their literacy levels. The study contributes to the understanding of AI literacy in teacher education and highlights the importance of integrating AI into educational practices. This study investigates the artificial intelligence (AI) literacy levels of prospective Turkish language teachers.
