The Chicago Face Database (CFD) is a free resource consisting of 158 high-resolution, standardized photographs of Black and White males and females aged 18 to 40, along with extensive norming data. The database aims to address the limitations of existing face databases, such as demographic homogeneity and lack of comprehensive norming data. Study 1 collected and standardized the stimuli, obtained subjective ratings from over 1,000 participants, and performed factor analysis on objective physical measures. Study 2 surveyed psychology researchers to assess the suitability of the CFD targets for research purposes and explored factors influencing their judgments. The CFD provides a diverse set of stimuli with detailed norming data, enhancing its utility for researchers in various psychological studies. The Chicago Face Database (CFD) is a free resource consisting of 158 high-resolution, standardized photographs of Black and White males and females aged 18 to 40, along with extensive norming data.
