This article explores the concept of human rights as presented in the Quran, addressing the common misconception that Islam does not recognize human rights. The research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods, focusing on Maudhu'i's interpretation of verses related to human rights. The study reveals that human rights have been inherent in Islam since its inception, as evidenced by verses in the Quran that emphasize equality, justice, life, and education. The article highlights the Islamic perspective on human rights, which is theocentric and rooted in the belief that God is the ultimate authority and protector of human rights. It also discusses the historical context of human rights, tracing their origins from ancient Egypt to modern times, and emphasizes that Islam's concept of human rights is more comprehensive and inclusive than Western perspectives. The article concludes by asserting that the Quran provides a robust framework for understanding and protecting human rights, and that Islam's approach to human rights is deeply rooted in its religious and ethical teachings. This article explores the concept of human rights as presented in the Quran, addressing the common misconception that Islam does not recognize human rights.
