The study aims to guide and accompany a group of caregivers from an IAPA (Institution Authorized for Adoption) responsible for the daily care of children in state protection and adoption by the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) through workshops built with different pedagogical strategies to improve their interaction with the children. This participatory action research, with a qualitative and experiential approach, explores the different conceptions and perceptions of caregivers on the impact of their work in Colombian society, particularly in early childhood. The instruments and methods used include role-playing, thinking routines, and integration games. Data analysis was conducted using mapping and content analysis, revealing significant associations between the caregivers' sensitivity towards child development, disciplinary practices, conceptions of their work, empowerment, well-being, and motivation.
The study highlights the importance of recognizing the needs identified by caregivers in their work with early childhood and exchanging knowledge and strategies to improve conditions for children, from physical to emotional development. It also emphasizes the role of motivation, emotional and social competencies, and well-being in the labor of caregivers. The research contributes to the formation and development of early childhood by empowering caregivers and transforming their perceptions of their role, enhancing the impact of their work on early childhood and the country's social and economic development.
