The article discusses the issue of bullying in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and proposes strategies to prevent it. It highlights that bullying in pesantren is influenced by various factors, including individual characteristics, a supportive environment, parenting styles, and media exposure. The study identifies bullying behaviors such as verbal and non-verbal aggression, physical harm, and social exclusion. It also emphasizes the role of Islamic education in shaping character and preventing bullying through values like mutual respect, responsibility, and fairness. The research suggests several strategies to combat bullying, including the implementation of a Fun Cottage Movement program, strengthening conflict and emotional management, conducting regular training on bullying prevention, and implementing an anti-bullying curriculum. Additionally, the study recommends fostering a supportive environment, providing counseling for students and caregivers, and promoting peer groups to enhance self-confidence and social cohesion. The article also emphasizes the importance of character development based on Josephson's "Character Counts" theory, which includes six pillars: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and sustainability.
