Implementation Science is a new open-access journal dedicated to the study of methods to promote the systematic uptake of research findings and evidence-based practices into routine healthcare. It aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of health services by addressing the influences on healthcare professionals and organizational behavior. The journal will publish a wide range of articles, including study protocols, theoretical articles, evaluations of change processes, and methodological articles. It will not favor any particular discipline, research design, or paradigm, and will prioritize relevance, scientific quality, and generalizability. Implementation Science will provide a platform for research in clinical, community, and policy contexts, and will facilitate the development of the field and its contribution to healthcare policy and practice. The journal is open access, allowing free and unrestricted access to all articles, and will be archived in multiple online repositories. Open access benefits science and the public by ensuring wide dissemination of research, enhancing literature searching, making publicly funded research accessible to all, and reducing barriers to access based on economic status. The journal also aims to enhance communication between researchers and users of implementation research. It invites submissions, ideas for features, and involvement in journal activities. The journal is supported by an international editorial board and will publish articles online immediately upon acceptance, following peer review.Implementation Science is a new open-access journal dedicated to the study of methods to promote the systematic uptake of research findings and evidence-based practices into routine healthcare.
