ChatGPT, a large language model developed by OpenAI, has significant potential in healthcare, offering various benefits such as personalized care, 24/7 availability, improved efficiency, reduced costs, patient education, better communication, improved diagnosis, medical education, mental health support, health monitoring, language assistance, and health screening. However, it also has limitations, including limited knowledge, inability to understand context, potential bias, privacy concerns, lack of emotional intelligence, limited creativity, inability to learn from experience, lack of awareness, dependence on internet connection, inability to perform physical tasks, unsuitability for uneducated users, delay in updating knowledge, inability to provide real-time data, and complexity of answers. To use ChatGPT safely in healthcare, it should be used for informational purposes only, with specific questions, to augment rather than replace human providers, and with verification of information. Privacy should be protected, and users should be aware of the limitations of the technology. The authors conclude that while ChatGPT has the potential to accelerate innovation in healthcare, it must be used ethically, safely, and responsibly with appropriate guidelines and regulations. The study highlights the need for careful implementation and use of ChatGPT in healthcare to maximize its benefits while minimizing potential risks.ChatGPT, a large language model developed by OpenAI, has significant potential in healthcare, offering various benefits such as personalized care, 24/7 availability, improved efficiency, reduced costs, patient education, better communication, improved diagnosis, medical education, mental health support, health monitoring, language assistance, and health screening.
